Frequently asked questions

What is a gravure idol?

A gravure idol (グラビアアイドル, “gravure” for short; also “gradol”) is a Japanese model who appears mainly in gravure — photo spreads, often in swimsuits, in magazines, photo books and online. Many now post photos and videos on X and Instagram and appear at photo sessions and events.

What is the difference between a gravure idol and a gravure model?

Both appear in gravure photo shoots and there is no strict difference. People who also work as TV or event personalities are usually called gravure idols, and those who mainly do photo shoots are called gravure models. On this site we use the title the person or their agency uses.

Is everyone on this site 18 or older?

Yes. We confirm that everyone is 18 or older from the age they or their agency have made public, commercial magazine appearances and similar evidence. We do not list anyone we cannot confirm.

Where do the photos come from?

Photos and videos are shown directly from the person's own posts on X, with their name and a link to the original post. We do not copy or store them. When a post is deleted on X, it disappears from this site too.

How is the ranking decided?

The ranking is ordered by the number of followers on X, which we update regularly.

How can I have a page removed?

If you are the person listed or their agency, please contact us from the contact page. We will check and remove or correct the page promptly.
